AXA Private Equity’s French wind power developer Kallista has completed the Ardouval Park project in the Seine-Maritime region.
The project, which has a 12MW capacity, has been fully financed and developed in-house and includes five new Nordex turbines.
It is the first greenfield project for Kallista since 2010 and follows the acquisition of two wind farms in Picardie, France, in May 2013.
Since AXA took over Kallista in 2009 the size of its portfolio has doubled and now stands at 321MW.
Mathias Burghardt, head of infrastructure at AXA Private Equity, added, “We are delighted to have supported Kallista with the financing for this new project, which demonstrates both the quality of the Kallista team and its extensive expertise in wind energy.
“AXA Private Equity continues to be a key player in the renewable energy sector in Europe, with more than 700MW of wind, solar and hydraulic production under management.”
Kallista’s growth has come largely through acquisitions including the takeover of Neoelectra Group in 2010 and Poweo ENR in 2011.
Frédéric Roche, CEO of Kallista Energy, said, “This project fits perfectly with our diversification strategy and further demonstrates our commitment to growth.
“It is testament to our close relationships with local representatives and everyone directly impacted by our projects and administration, all of whom contribute to our ongoing geographical development.
“Thanks to the quality of our teams and our long-term partnership with AXA Private Equity, we are in an excellent position to continue our growth.”
