Biography

Since graduating from MIT, Pierre-Jean has been very active in entrepreneurship and innovation, first as entrepreneur (he co-founded Sharepa, a WealthTech social investment platform) then as an advisor to several FinTech blockchain startups. He is an Entrepreneurship Expert at the University of Oxford (Saïd Business School); he also serves as an expert and judge in different startup competitions in the USA at MIT Delta V / GFSA, Harvard (HBS New Venture Competition) and MassChallenge as well as in Asia at Startupbootcamp in Singapore and Chinaccelerator in Shanghai. He is also a regular speaker on Fintech and entrepreneurship and is the co-author of an upcoming book on WealthTech where he addresses platform strategy (Wiley; 2018). Prior to MIT, Pierre-Jean spent over 10 years in finance, mainly at HSBC Private Bank in London, Singapore and Geneva where his last roles were Head of Private Wealth Clients Segment and Chief of Staff to the COO. In these roles, he led the turnaround of the front office business as well as various cross-functional projects in Risk Management, IT, Operations and HR. He is also the co-founder of IDDEA, the first early-stage startup contest and training program in French-speaking Switzerland to support its regional development. He earned an MBA as a Sloan Fellow from MIT (USA). He also holds a Bachelor degree in Management Science from the University of Liège (Belgium), a Master degree in Marketing Management from Vlerick Business School (Belgium) and a Master in International Economics and Management from SDA Bocconi (Italy).
