Part-time Journalist

Job Description

AltAssets, the veteran private equity news service, is looking to expand its reporting team with an ambitious journalist on a flexible, part-time basis.

The opportunity would suit a reporter with at least one year’s experience in journalism, ideally within finance, investments or technology writing, who is keen to immerse themselves in private equity reporting and work to become a leading authority on the sector.

As well as sourcing and writing daily news for the AltAssets site, the role will be geared towards producing in-depth features and analysis, covering industry trends, compelling deals and the most successful funds.

Candidates should come in brimming with ideas about how to build and guide the website’s future. Specific expertise in the private equity and alternative assets space is welcomed, though not essential, but successful applicants should display an eagerness to get to grips with the sector and build a network with top industry players.

The successful candidate will be able to work from home comfortably during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, with the option of continuing to work remotely or joining our sociable and dynamic team at our vibrant central London office once it is safe to do so.

Hours are very flexible and negotiable, but ideally consistent each day from Monday to Friday. The role could suit someone willing to work 10am to 2.30pm before heading out on the school run, for example, or an early riser who would prefer to start at 8 and be done by lunchtime.

A competitive salary is boosted by 25 days holiday each year pro rata.

Please send a CV and cover letter, along with any relevant samples of finance or tech journalism, to Mike Didymus-True at mdidymus@altassets.net.
