Gary Gysin has joined US Venture Partners as an entrepreneur-in-residence. In his new role, Gysin will explore infrastructure opportunities in cloud services, networking and storage, and smart grid.
The entrepreneur-in-residence programme is designed for experienced executives looking to find a new opportunity.
“There is a massive transformation underway as it relates to infrastructure services for IT organisations and renewable energy for utilities and consumers”, said Gysin. “I am honoured to join the USVP team.”
Gysin comes to USVP from Asempra Technologies, a USVP company, where he was president and CEO. Asempra is an instant recovery solution for Windows applications and data.
Prior to joining Asempra, Gysin was senior vice president of sales and service at McData Corporation. In this role Gysin was responsible for setting and executing strategies that resulted in exponential worldwide revenue growth through the expansion of strategic partnerships, acquisitions, and customer and channel relationships.
While at McData, Gyson also held the role of vice president of software and was general manager of Sanera/Nishan.
Before joining McData, Gyson was the senior vice president of products at Volera, a majority owned subsidiary of Novell. Prior to Volera, he held a variety of executive leadership roles including president and CEO of PGSoft, leading the company through five successful years culminating in the company’s sale to Novell. He was also vice president of sales and marketing at Crosswise Corporation, WorldTalk and Touch Communications.
