Scottish Widows Investment Partnership, the asset management division of pension and investment provider Scottish Widows, has ramped up its private equity capabilities with the appointment of Narcisa Sehovic as investment manager.
Based in SWIP’s London office, Sehovic’s new responsibilities involve the management of all of SWIP’s private equity mandates and researching the Benelux, CEE and Italian regions of the European private equity market to identify long-term investment opportunities in the asset class.
She joins from Alphex One, a corporate M&A and capital markets advisory firm operating in the oil and gas space, where she was a director. Prior to that, she was executive director in Goldman Sachs’ investment banking division.
SWIP focuses on the European private equity market, including Eastern Europe, and invests in funds ranging from buy-out, turnaround, special situations, distressed debt and mezzanine.
In the nine years since the move into private equity, SWIP has committed over £1.3bn (€1.5bn) to private equity funds.
