European private equity firm HgCapital has appointed Andrew Land as a senior member of its services sector team and a director of the firm.
Land was formerly a managing director with OchZiff Capital Management, where he worked as a managing director responsible for European private equity investments. Prior to this, he was a principal with Credit Suisse offshoot DLJ Merchant Banking Partners.
In the last 18 months, the HgCapital services team has invested in JLA Limited, the UK’s largest commercial laundry services supplier, and ATC Group, the Netherlands-based trust services provider. The team has also recently completed the merger of SHL, the European objective psychometric testing group, with US rival Previsor.
Matthew Rourke, head of HgCapital’s services team, said, “Andrew is an exceptionally experienced and highly successful private equity investor. We are delighted to have attracted someone of his calibre to join the growing services team”.
This is the third appointment HgCapital has made to its services team in the last month. The firm also appointed Simon Cottle and Thorsten Toepfer as associate directors, taking the team to six investment specialists.
