Regenerative medicine developer ProFibrix closes $11m funding round
25 Aug 2009. Source: AltAssets. ProFibrix, a developer of hemostasis and regenerative medicine products, has closed an $11m series B investment. The financing round was led by new investor Gilde Healthcare Partners, a leading European life sciences investor, who joins existing investor Index Ventures. Dirk Kersten from Gilde will join the company’s supervisory board.

Just-Eat completes £10.5m Series A funding

European venture capital firm Index Ventures led the £10.5mn round, with Venrex Investment Management and existing shareholders also participating. The capital will be used to consolidate the company’s leadership position in the UK and to expand into additional territories across Europe, the company said. -

Conversus Capital sees increase in debt investments in 2008

Dutch start-up investments in 2008 defy economic slump

AAC Capital achieves full independence

European mid-market private equity firm AAC Capital has completed a secondary transaction, whereby ABN AMRO has sold a portfolio of 20 buy-out investments managed by AAC to a consortium led by Goldman Sachs Asset Management. These Benelux, UK and Nordic investments, all made prior to October 2006, will continue to be solely managed by AAC Capital. As part of the transaction, the Goldman Sachs Asset Management-led consortium and ABN AMRO have committed €950m to AAC Capital's current investment programme, which includes 11 acquisitions completed since October 2006. In addition, AAC Capital's management company, already majority-controlled by AAC Capital executives, is now owned 100 per cent by AAC Capital so that the firm is fully independent. -
Holland Private Equity Technology Fund I holds €40m first closing

FMO invests €118m in African private equity funds

The Dutch development bank has participated in the first closing of the Aureos Africa Fund and committed capital to Africinvest Fund II, a pan-African mid-market fund managed by AfricInvest Capital Partners - Tuninvest Finance Group. -
KKR to list on NYSE, first acquiring KPE

US buy-out giant Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co has agreed to acquire all of the assets and assumption of all of the liabilities of KKR Private Equity Investors, the Netherlands-listed private equity investment fund. The transaction will form part of KKR's IPO on the New York Stock Exchange in the fourth quarter of this year. -
Egeria closes third fund on €500m

Gilde Healthcare Partners, a European private equity firm specialising in healthcare investments, has launched a new growth capital fund, Gilde Healthcare Services. The firm expects the vehicle to exceed €50m during the fundraising process next year.
GreenPeak Technologies has secured a €13m series B funding round led by Gimv and Robert Bosch Venture Capital, with DFJ Esprit, Motorola Ventures and Allegro Investment Fund also participating in the round. The Netherlands-based GreenPeak is a fabless semiconductor company that creates battery-free wireless communication technology.
French listed investor Wendel Investissement has offered Dutch leather coatings company Stahl a €60m debt restructuring facility that, if accepted, would sideline fellow investor the Carlyle Group, according to the Financial Times.
UK private equity firm 3i has sold its remaining stake in marine company Dockwise to an investor consortium including Bain Capital’s credit arm Sankaty for $82.2m, according to reports. The firm is said to have made a two times return on its investment in the company, which is planning a secondary listing in Amsterdam. Other investors in Dockwise include Dutch groups Project Holland Fonds and HAL Investmentss.
