EQT Partners acquires European hazardous waste company Kommunekemi
23 Oct 2009. Source: AltAssets. Swedish private equity firm EQT Partners has acquired Kommunekemi, a state-owned Danish hazardous waste treatment company. The deal, valued at DKK260m (€34.9m), is made up of 65 per cent equity, with the remainder in bank loans. EQT and the Kommunekemi management will share ownership of the company.

Just-Eat completes £10.5m Series A funding

European venture capital firm Index Ventures led the £10.5mn round, with Venrex Investment Management and existing shareholders also participating. The capital will be used to consolidate the company’s leadership position in the UK and to expand into additional territories across Europe, the company said. -

CVC to back Swedish-Danish post office merger

CVC Capital Partners, the Swedish Ministry of Enterprise, Energy & Communications and the Danish Ministry of Transport have agreed to merge Sweden's Posten and Post Danmark. The merged group, 60 per cent owned by the Swedish state and employees of Posten and 40 per cent owned by CVC, the Danish state and employees of Post Danmark, will have annual revenues of approximately SEK45bn (€4.8bn). -

3i and minority shareholders to sell Danish company Damcos for €162m

The private equity owners of Danish telecoms company TDC have selected banks for the launch of a large share offering in the company, according to reports. Blackstone, Permira, KKR, Providence and Apax Partners, who hold 87.9 per cent of the company, have appointed a total of nine banks, including Danske Bank and SEB, to sell shares in the company.
