Brokerage Spencer Trask Ventures, which specialises in raising money for venture capital stage companies, has promoted Michael Siek to president from senior managing director.
During his 16-year tenure at Spencer Trask, Siek has raised more than $200m for 75 portfolio companies operating in various sectors including bio-technologies, software-as-a-service and IT services.
Prior to joining the firm, Siek worked at Laidlaw Equities, T.R. Winston & Co, and Lehman Brothers.
He has a total experience of 20 years in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, and investor relations both in the US and abroad.
