California-based IT investor Scale Venture Partners has brought back executive-in-residence Zack Urlocker two years after originally bringing him on board in the same role.
Urlocker left Scale to become COO at Zendesk where he grew the customer base six-fold and user base nine-fold to more than 200 million.
Scale said it had also hired Gregory Silva as a new associate in its investment team following a stint as an analyst with Piper Jaffray.
His last role saw him evaluate the technology landscape and strategic alternatives for growth technology companies.
In May Scale closed its fourth venture capital fund on $300m to continue making investments in early-in-revenue technology companies in the cloud, mobile, SaaS and internet sectors.
That fundraise meant Scale had raised a total of $1.5bn since inception.
