Mid-market US private equity firm Summer Street Capital Partners has promoted intern Thomas Rashman to analyst in its New York headquarters.
Rashman, who was previously part of an elite infantry unit in the US military’s Israel Defense Forces, spent almost a year as an intern with Summer Street before being given the new role.
Summer Street closed its third investment fund on $280m in February last year, $30m ahead of its initial target.
Champlain Advisors helped place the fund in the US according to a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, which said the firm would receive an estimated $3m.
Summer Street focuses its investments on companies with revenues of between $30m and $150m, investing at least $15m in each.
It looks to take either minority or control positions in Eastern US and Canadian businesses in the environmental services, niche manufacturing, education and healthcare sectors.
