Prudential Capital has moved Bill Engelking to head its Chicago office as the company looks to begin an expansion across the US.
Engelking, who becomes a managing director, will oversee the firm’s activities originating, marketing and managing private and mezzanine investments in the US Midwest territory.
He will also manage and existing $5.4bn portfolio of private equity investments and senior and mezzanine debt.
Engelking previously served as senior vice-president for the firm for the Chicago-based territories of Iowa and Wisconsin.
Newly appointed co-head of US corporate finance Scott von Fischer, who Engelking will report to, said, “Bill’s extensive experience is a valuable asset in overseeing the Midwest territory.
“His knowledge of the business and the region ideally suits him to lead this office. We are pleased to have him.”
Prudential Capital manages a portfolio of more than $59bn and offers senior debt, mezzanine capital, leverage leases, credit tenant leases and equipment finance to companies worldwide.
The firm raised its biggest ever fund with Prudential Capital Partners III in January 2010, beating its $900m target by $65m.
