KKR, Apax Partners both lose European financial services execs

Max-Belingheri ApaxPrivate equity majors KKR and Apax Partners are both losing their executives responsible for European financial services investments after a total of a quarter of a century at the firms.

KKR’s Nicolas Cattelain and Apax’s Massimiliano Belingheri are both leaving according to Bloomberg, which cited two people with knowledge of the moves.

It said KKR had tasked executives Mattia Caprioli and Enrico Grasso with Cattelain’s duties according to a statement from the firm, while Apax refused to comment.

Cattelain joined KKR in 2000 having previously worked for IK Investment Partners and the M&A department of Merrill Lynch.

Apax hired Belingheri in 2001 following a stint as a consultant at McKinsey & Company, where he specialised in advising clients in the financial services and energy sectors.
