Private equity asset manager Hamilton Lane has boosted its Hong Kong team with the addition of Mingchen Xia as principal on the fund investment team and Yen Li Chew as vice president in the business development group.
The new hires will help strengthen the firm’s presence in the Asia-Pacific region, according to Hamilton Lane CIO Erik Hirsch. “We are delighted to welcome Mingchen and Yen Li to the Hamilton Lane team. Both bring years of experience in the Asian private equity markets and their deeply developed regional networks and market perspectives will add great depth to our existing presence in the region.”
Mingchen previously worked at financial institutions in Japan, including Tokio Marine Asset Management, Mitsubishi UFJ Securities and Mizuho Securities. Prior to joining the Hamilton Lane team, Mingchen was most recently a senior fund manager at Tokio Marine Asset Management, where he was responsible for private equity fund investment globally.
Yen Li joins the firm from Oaktree Capital, where she was vice president, marketing and client relations. Previously, she worked for Morgan Stanley Asia, Pacific World Asset Management and KPMG.

Hamilton Lane has offices in the US, London, Hong Kong, Rio de Janeiro, Tel Aviv and Tokyo, with more than $170bn in total assets under management and supervision.
