Healthcare focused private equity firm Ampersand Capital Partners has made three senior appointments to boost its management team.
The firm today introduced Eric Lev as its new partner and John Perkins as an operating partner. In addition, Ampersand has named Dana Niles its chief financial officer and chief compliance officer.
Lev is joining Ampersand from Water Street Healthcare Partners where he served on the investment team since Water Street’s formation in 2005. He has also worked at Beckman Coulter and at One Equity Partners.
Perkins, pictured, most recently served as a senior executive at Ampersand portfolio company Talecris Biotherapeutics, which was acquired by Grifols in 2011. Prior to Talecris, he held as an operating executive at Cerberus and as an executive at General Electric.
Ampersand’s new CFO Niles previously held the same position at HighPoint Capital, a senior debt platform acquired by Crescent Capital in 2012.
He was also controller at both HLM Venture Partners and YankeeTek Ventures and a senior auditor at Arthur Andersen.
Herb Hooper, Ampersand managing partner, said, “Ampersand has been making successful middle-market healthcare investments for twenty years, and these key additions further build on our strong base of healthcare investment experience and operating talent.”
Ampersand is a Boston-based private equity firm with a focus on middle market growth equity investments in the healthcare sector.
Over the past twenty years, Ampersand has raised seven funds, producing a 25 per cent pooled internal rate of return to limited partners.
