Greylock promotes ex-Twitter growth expert Elman to partner

26 Jul 2013

JUS venture capital firm Greylock Partners has made its second people move of the month by promoting former Twitter growth specialist Josh Elman to partner.

Elman has been with the firm for two years following stints at Twitter and fellow social media giant Facebook, where he helped launch Facebook Connect.

Earlier this month Greylock hired former Quora, Twitter and Facebook growth specialist Andrew Johns as a growth strategist in residence.

A blog post on the firm’s website confirmed Johns would be tasked with helping its portfolio companies build growth and engagement through using metrics and dashboards and creating new features.

A blog post on Greylock’s website said, “Over the past two years with us, Josh has built relationships with great entrepreneurs that have led to Greylock investments.

“He’s added tremendous value to our portfolio companies.

“He’s been a great partner to us as we’ve assessed potential investments.

“He’s shared his thoughts and expertise with the ecosystem through many outlets – and he’s shown the creativity, hustle, and insight we expect in all of our partners.”
