GMT Communication Partners hires ex-Allianz fund of funds head Jonny Maxwell

Jonny_Maxwell GMTEuropean buyout house GMT Communications Partners has hired former Allianz global private equity fund of funds head Jonny Maxwell as a senior advisor.

Maxwell has spent more than 30 years in the private equity fundraising environment through his time spent at Allianz, SL Capital Partners and Stewart Fund Managers.

He founded SL Capital Partners as Standard Life Investments in 1990, building up the firm’s private equity business and assets as CEO from a small single-client operation to an international multi-client manager with more than €5.5bn of assets under management.

GMT managing partner Tim Green said, “We are delighted to welcome Jonny on board at GMT.

“We have previously benefited from our relationship with Jonny and his invaluable guidance, and we’re delighted to take the step to officially welcome him to the team.
