UK venture capital firm DFJ Esprit has hired Gil Dibner as a partner to lead new investments in technology-driven companies.
Dibner, pictured, is joining DFJ from Index Ventures in London, where he was responsible for leading the firm’s seed and early stage investment strategy in Europe, Israel and the US.
He has also served as a principal at Israeli venture capital firm Gemini Israel Ventures.
Dibner’s previous investments included The Gifts Project and Yedda, which have been acquired by Ebay and AOL respectively, as well as LoyalBlocks, Innovid and JFrog.
The appointment came three months after DFJ Esprit partner Nic Brisbourne left the firm to join the venture capital arm of Forward Internet Group.
DFJ Esprit CEO Simon Cook said, “We are excited to add Gil to the team; he has worked passionately with some amazing entrepreneurs around the world, has rare deep technical understanding, and brings 8 years of global venture capital experience to the DFJ Esprit team.
“Gil’s extensive experience in backing enterprise-focussed and technology-driven companies strengthens and complements DFJ Esprit’s diverse team of venture professionals and help position the firm to maintain its leadership position in the European technology venture landscape.”
