Mid-market private equity firm Genstar Capital Management has strengthened its strategic advisory board by appointing Tom Hutton and Mitch Vernick.
Hutton and Vernick will be responsible for identifying and evaluating investment opportunities in the firm’s target sectors including the insurance and financial services, software, healthcare, and industrial technology.
Hutton has previously worked as CEO of White Mountains Re and as president and CEO of Risk Management Solutions.
Prior to joining Genstar, Vernick worked as president and chief operating officer of Transamerica Finance Corporation and held senior roles at Heller Financial.
Genstar managing director J. Ryan Clark said, “We are very pleased that Tom and Mitch have agreed to join our Strategic Advisory Board.
“We have been working informally with each of them for the past five years and these appointments are in recognition of their contributions and our confidence that they will help us identify quality, and proprietary, acquisition targets, as well as help build those businesses.”
Last month it was reported that Genstar was looking to exit its investment in hotel booking software company TravelClick.
