General Catalyst hires Akamai CEO Sagan as partner, EIR

Paul SaganVenture capital firm General Catalyst Partners has former Akamai Technologies CEO Paul Sagan as a partner and entrepreneur in residence.

Sagan joined Akamai as its 15th employee in 1998, beginning as COO and helping to build the business into one of the largest distributed-computing platforms in the world.

He is also a director of EMC Corp. and iRobot Inc., and a non-executive chairman of Datto, a General Catalyst portfolio company that provides cloud-based data back-up and disaster recovery and business continuity services.
