CVC has boosted its investor relations team with the hiring of former Coller fundraiser Rob Squire, as the global buyout giant looks to boost its IR function following the announced retirement of its chairman and the imminent launch of its new fund.
Squire joins CVC this week as a senior managing director within the London-based firm’s investor relations team following the recent close of secondary specialist Coller Capital’s sixth fund, which closed in July this year with commitments of $5.5bn.
A former placement agent at Blackstone’s Park Hill Group, Squire was hired by Coller in early 2010 alongside former Credit Suisse First Boston vice president Lorna Eltringham to lead the fundraising team for CIP VI, after the firm parted ways with placement agent Credit Suisse.
Squire’s appointment will boost the firm’s fundraising team following the retirement of chairman Michael Smith, who has previously handled the firm’s investor relations activities.
The move comes as the firm plans to launch CVC European Equity Partners VI, a €10.75bn vehicle that will rank as the largest buyout fund on the market once it launches at the end of the year.
