Private equity firm Spire Capital is already “actively investing” its third fund after closing commitments of $100m towards its $375m target.
New York-headquartered Spire said the fund is focused on the business and information services, media, education and communication sectors.
Last month AltAssets reported that the Spire Capital Partners III fund had collected $76.25m from 33 LPs.
The fund follows Spire’s second vehicle, which was closed on $320m in 2008 – eight years after the firm raised its debut fund.
Spire makes buyout investments with EBITDA of over $5m, which it said eliminated risk factors associated with an earlier-stage focus”.
Earlier this year Spire partnered with former CEO of 4Connections to invest in the booming fibre communications sector.
