Mumbia-based private equity firm Samara Capital is reported to have set a $300m hard cap for its second fund – $50m larger than the vehicle’s 2008-vintage predecessor.
VCCircle reported the news, citing two unnamed sources.
Samara Capital was founded by former Goldman Sachs dealmaker Sumeet Narang and invests in infrastructure, consumer, products and services, financial services, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, IT/BPO, media and manufacturing.
In June this year the firm bought a 20 per cent stake in Monte Carlo Fashions, an apparel manufacturing and retailing company, for INR1.75bn ($32m).
