Vinted raises $27m Series B from Accel, Insight

shopping bag_lrgSecond-hand clothes marketplace Vinted has raised $27m in a Series B round led by Insight Venture Partners.

The round, which was also backed by existing investor Insight Venture Partners, will help the company expand its business in the US and fund further product development. It came a year after Vinted raised its $6.5m Series A from Accel Partners.

Vinted currently has 3m members and 14m listings and is available in seven markets including the US, Germany, France, Austria, Poland, Czech Republic and Lithuania.

Accel partner Michiel Kotting said, “Vinted had impressive early traction when we first met them in September 2012.

“The member base and user behaviour were a natural fit with mobile, and implementing a mobile-first strategy has rapidly boosted the company to 60 million monthly visits and climbing.”

Last month Vinted promoted Philippe Botteri and Michiel Kotting to partner less than a year after closing its Accel London IV fund on $475m.
