Online healthcare investment fund VentureHealth has launched a new equity crowdfunding model, which it said will enable individual investors to access deals that were previously available only to venture capitalists.
The firm expects the new portal to expand the community of investors and offer a “limited number of carefully selected investment opportunities” at any given time.
VentureHealth also said that it has raised $875,000 in Series B financing for Channel Medsystems, a start-up developing next generation cryoablation technologies.
Managing director of VentureHealth Mir Imran said, “Venture capital for early stage life sciences companies has dried up in the last few years, and promising companies are always looking for investors.
“VentureHealth has the potential to change how healthcare innovations are funded, which is a win for both entrepreneurs and investors.”
