Restoration Alpha Angels leads first investment with paythru deal

4 Dec 2012

UK angel investment network Restoration Alpha Angels has led a successful fundraising of £700,000 for payments platform provider paythru.

Restoration Alpha Angels was established by technology merchant bank Restoration Partners in the second half of 2012.

Since being founded in 2007, paythru has implemented mobile payments systems for organisations including charities, retailers, debt collectors, food outlets, local government, parking and ticketing companies, sports clubs and financial service providers.

As part of the deal, John Shackleton, the former CEO of Open Text, will join the company’s board with immediate effect.

Restoration Partners said it intends to play an active long term role in driving all investments towards a successful exit, according to Ken Olisa, chairman of Restoration Partners.

He said, “Our Restoration Alpha Angels private investment network offers private individuals the same access but with the reassurance that we will play an active part in the whole life of their investment.”
