Hutchison Whampoa’s Italian telecom operator 3, which is also bidding for the business, has asked for a postponement to November 30 which is expected to be accepted, according to Reuters.
Clessidra, 3, US TV group Discovery Communications and advertising company Cairo Communications had all previously made non-binding offers, the report said.
Clessidra and Hutchison are understood to be frontrunners for the deal.
Clessidra is currently investing from its €1.4bn second vehicle raised in 2009.
It emerged yesterday that Clessidra was part of a consortium aiming to buy a stake in Italian aerospace manufacturer Avio from European buyout heavyweight Cinven.
Cinven had attempted to list the Italian company on the Milan stock exchange last year and again in May, but ended up scrapping both plans amid ongoing market volatility.
