A bevy of trade buyers including Turk Telekom, Dogan Holding and Dogus Group are said to be potential buyers according to Reuters, which cited banking sources close to the matter.
It added that NewsCorp and Liberty Global could also be interested.
The company is majority owned by Cukurova Group, which had dozens of assets including Digiturk seized by state agency the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund in May.
Providence owns a 47 per cent stake in the business.
A strong exit would go down well with Providence, which is said to be near a $5bn final close for its seventh fund.
Providence, which makes mid to large-cap investments in media, communications and IT companies, has apparently endured a slow 12 months of fundraising having reportedly gathered about $4.5bn in May last year.
