OpCapita founder could face Risk Capital Partners in £250m Gala Bingo buyout

news_bingoballs_lrgOpCapita founder Henry Jackson is reportedly going up against Risk Capital Partners to buy UK bingo chain Gala.

Jackson has registered his interest with Gala according to Sky News, which said other prospective buyers including private equity groups like RCP were also interested.

It did not say where the information came from.

Gala has hired investment bank Lazard to run a sale process which could see the business valued at £250m.

European turnaround private equity investor OpCapita is currently looking to raise a €150m vehicle for new investments.

The UK-based firm gained a notoriety following its £2 buyout of collapsed electrical retailer Comet, which saw complaints from British MPs over its handling of the business.
