Montagu Private Equity-backed internet service provider Host Europe could sell for about £400m after bankers reportedly put together £225m of debt financing for potential buyers.
The firm has hired UBS to sell the asset it bought from Oakley Capital in 2010 for £222m, which was backed by £115m of debt, according to Reuters.
It cited banking sources as saying the company had attracted private equity interest from firms including Cinven, Hellman & Friedman, Providence Equity Partners and TA Associates.
They recently submitted first round bids in an auction, with final bids due by August, the bankers added.
Host Europe was founded in 1997 and provides domain registration, mass hosting, customised managed hosting and cloud hosting, as well as an emerging software-as-a-service offering.
