The private equity owners of Euromedic are reportedly looking to sell the healthcare services operator.
Euromedic has received interest from private equity firms and its owners including Ares Life Sciences and Montagu Private Equity could receive proceeds of €1bn from a sale, said Bloomberg, citing three people with knowledge of the matter.
The Budapest-headquartered company is focused on diagnostics investigations, clinical laboratories and cancer treatment services.
Montagu, Ares and Merrill Lynch bought the business from Warburg Pincus and GE Capital Equity Investments in 2008.
Last October Mid Europa Partners backed its portfolio company Alpha Medical for the acquisition of Euromedic’s laboratories in the Czech Republic.
In 2011, Euromedic sold its dialysis care division International Dialysis Centres for €485m.
