Maven leads £5m MBO of network services company Vodat

30 Mar 2012

Scottish lower mid-market firm Maven has led the £5m management buyout of network and communications provider Vodat International.

The firm’s Manchester team led the transaction into Cheshire, UK-based Vodat, which has increased its sales by more than 50 per cent since 2008.

Maven bought Vodat from founder Mike Bielinski, who launched the company in 2002 alongside the current CEO and senior management team.

Ryan Bevington, investment director at Maven, said, “We’re delighted to be backing a proven management team which has developed a strong market presence and achieved significant growth despite difficult economic conditions.

“The business is well placed to achieve further expansion over the next few years, particularly with the roll out of the new products and services.

“We look forward to working closely with the team and supporting the development of the business.”

Vodat offers a range of communication solutions to UK businesses including secure real-time data networks, Wi-Fi solutions and disaster recovery.

Managing director Neil Poultney said, “Our goal is to continue our strong growth by building on the diverse and innovative product offering and the provision of exceptional service.”

Earlier this month Maven sold Aberdeen oil and gas tools rental service ATR Group through an MBO backed by fellow private equity group NBGI.
