UK mid-market private equity firm LDC is in talks to invest in UK race track Silverstone, according to Sky News.
The mid-market investor is said to be in “advanced negotiations” for a deal which could see a management buyout of Silverstone Circuits, the company that hosts the British Grand Prix. Alongside this, property investment and development group MEPC would acquire the land around the site.
The size of the deal has not yet been finalised, the report said, though could be announced within the next few weeks.
LDC previously invested alongside Russian sports car manufacturer Marussia to develop new Formula One team Virgin Racing, selling its stake this year.
Banking group Lloyds’ private equity arm LDC said it expects to make deals worth a record £400m this year.
