Cylance plans to provide security products for critical infrastructure, servers, desktops and devices.
Vinod Khosla, founder of Khosla Ventures, said, “The time is now to change the paradigm in security.
“Companies like Cylance know how to solve this problem at its core, and we will help them deliver on that vision.”
Along with its investors, Cylance has added three board members – chief trust officer at Salesforce.com Patrick Heim, retired admiral William J. Fallon and former chief executive of PGP Alex Doll, who sold to Symantec in 2011.
Additionally Cylance has established a board of advisors, which will include Paul Forney from Invensys, Robert Bigman of the CIA and Joseph Gabbert, formerly of McAfee and EMC among others.
Last year, the firm looked to be raising a second seed fund, having closed an initial $300m vehicle in 2010.
