Emerging Capital Partners acquires 33% stake in Algeria’s Atlas Bottling Corp

14 Mar 2014

africa-tanzania_sqPrivate equity firm Emerging Capital Partners (ECP) has agreed to acquire a 33 per cent stake in Algerian bottling company Atlas Bottling Corp from Group Mehri.

ECP did not say how much it paid for Atlas, which bottles Pepsi’s drinks.

The company will use ECP’s investment to build a manufacturing facility and expand its product categories.

Back in December ECP made a return of 2.6 times from the sale of Ivory Coast-based mobile network operator MTN Côte d’Ivoire.

The private equity firm said the exit deal returned more than $80m in capital.
