European private equity firm Edmond de Rothschild Capital Partners has backed portfolio company Artedist in its acquisition of paper company Alpem from the company’s retiring CEO.
The acquisition sees two of the company’s existing key executives reinvesting alongside Artedist.
Located in Reims, France, Alpem has annual sales of nearly €10m.
Its product lines include Atlantica, a sealed paper bag; and BioEm, a range of biodegradable materials from renewable resources.
Financing was provided by by Société Générale and Crédit du Nord, alongside Banque Populaire du Nord and LCL.
