Mid-market buyout house Dominus Capital has completed a $35m deal to buy the commercial interiors division of Interface, the world’s largest maker of modular carpet.
Dominus picked up Bentley Prince Street in partnership with BPS president Anthony Minite and other members of the company’s senior management team.
Interface said the sale would allow the company to focus on its core modular carpet business and strengthen its balance sheet.
BPS, which has annual sales of more than $100m, is California’s largest independent commercial carpet company.
Dominus partner Ashish Rughwani said, “We are excited to partner with Anthony and the rest of the management team in this investment.
“We look forward to supporting them as they continue to expand their industry leading product portfolio and further build-out their roster of dedicated clients around the globe.
“In addition to making a substantial financial commitment to Bentley, we look forward to utilising our previous experience in the floor covering industry, as well as our network of industry executives, to assist management in achieving its growth plans.”
