Insight Venture Partners and existing investors Benchmark, Trinity Ventures and Jerry Yang also participated in the round.
The company said it will use the funds for further product development.
Since its launch in March 2013 Docker has received more than 400,000 downloads and gathered over 5,000 published “Dockerized” applications in its public index.
Greylock partner Jerry Chen said, “We are witnessing a fundamental disruption in the data center and application infrastructure stack.
“The next generation of SaaS and enterprise applications are being built for the cloud using process and container based technologies, thereby increasing performance, density, portability and flexibility.”
Other companies backed by Greylock include live education platform creativeLIVE, which raised a $21.5m Series B in November last year.
