CVC Capital in talks for Flint Group exit

8 Apr 2014

UK-headquartered private equity firm CVC Capital is considering exiting printing inks company Flint Group to US multinational Koch Industries and Goldman Sachs, Reuters reported.

In November 2004, CVC acquired BDS (BASF Drucksysteme) and ANI, two competing European inks companies, subsequently renamed Xsys Print Solutions. In September 2005, Xsys acquired Flint Ink Corporation of the US and Flint-Schmidt of Europe and subsequently renamed the combined entity Flint Group.

Flint Group sells printing consumables through its packaging division and its print media division.

A potential sale could exceed the company’s 2013 sales of €2.157bn, the report said.
