A group of private equity investors has helped close a $45m Series C financing round into cancer radiation therapy company ViewRay.
The Ohio-based company said it plans to use the funding to prepare a market launch for its innovative cancer therapy system, which uses a combination of radiotherapy and magnetic resonance imaging.
ViewRay said its research system was currently undergoing final installation at the Siteman Cancer Centre in Barnes Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine in Missouri.
Aisling Capital has previously helped Aragon Pharmaceuticals develop drugs to treat hormonally-driven cancers by leading a $22m financing round.
