Canada’s Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec has sold its 2.26 per cent interest in Heathrow Airport.
As part of the transaction recently announced by Ferrovial, the Caisse exercised its tag-along right and sold its stake to CIC International, for C$164m (£102m).
CIC increased its stake in Heathrow, London’s biggest airport, to ten per cent after acquiring an additional interest from Spanish infrastructure investor Ferrovial.
“The transaction is part of our commitment to rebalance and better diversify our infrastructure portfolio. Heathrow Airport is a high-quality strategic asset and we expect to remain a partner of Heathrow Airport Holdings while seizing new infrastructure investment opportunities as they arise,” said Normand Provost, executive vice president, private equity at the Caisse.
