The deal will help iSIGHT launch its recently patented Cyber Risk Management System, which is scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2014.
Blackstone chief information security officer Jay Leek said, “Blackstone has relied on iSIGHT Partners for the past year to understand and interpret our cyber threat environment.
“Their products allow us to prioritize resources to counter those cyber threats that pose the greatest risk to our organization.
“We believe their approach to providing intelligence led security will be the model for the future.”
In May Vista Equity Partners acquired Websense for $24.75 per share, valuing the web security specialist at $1bn.
The buyout price represented a premium of 53 per cent to Websense’s average closing price within the preceding 60 days.
The offer was been unanimously recommended to shareholders by the company’s board.
