The private equity arm of European insurance giant AXA has bought a stake in Place des Leads, a French company specialised in individual data collection.
This investment gives the company the necessary resources to continue the development of its business by financing its growth, AXA Private Equity said.
Place des Leads was founded in 2010 and collects commercial contacts, reselling these leads to clients including banks, insurance companies, lawyers and insurance brokers.
The company, which has about 20 associates, collected over 400,000 leads for 300 partners in 2011.
“This investment was attractive largely thanks to the significant expertise of the Place des Leads management team,” said AXA Private Equity director Antoine Lacour.
“They have a great understanding of the market and have found innovative ways to take advantage of all leads, which has helped to establish the company as a leader in its market.”
The deal follows AXA Private Equity’s recent acquisition of Riemser Arzneimittel, an international specialty pharmaceutical company based in Germany.
