Bridgepoint exits ALL3MEDIA

1 Aug 2006

European private equity firm Bridgepoint has sold ALL3MEDIA, an independent TV production company in the UK, to fellow European private equity firm Permira and the ALL3MEDIA management team. The transaction values the group at approximately £320m on an enterprise basis.

Bridgepoint backed the £45m MBI of ALL3MEDIA (Chrysalis TV) in July 2003. The investment generated a money multiple of 5.5 times, according to a statement.

Michael Black, partner at Bridgepoint, said, ‘The ALL3MEDIA management team and Bridgepoint have worked hard to make it the UK’s largest independent TV production company thanks to a combination of organic and acquisitive growth. The business has strong prospects and a talented team, which augur well for its future development. The transaction represents an excellent result for Bridgepoint and management.’

Derek Elliott, a principal and a member of Permira’s TMT sector team, commented, ‘We believe that independent producers are addressing a dynamic and growing market. ALL3MEDIA represents an important investment for Permira in content.’
