Asian private equity industry suffers as fundraising falls 85 per cent from 2001 31/07/2002. The value of Spanish private equity investments dropped sharply in the first half of the year to just E200m, according to new figures produced by Professor Marti Pellon of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. US buy-out giant Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. has agreed to pay E1.69bn for seven businesses from German electronics firm Siemens after protracted negotiations. UK Abbey National bank considering selling its private equity portfolio 26/07/2002.
