The European Venture Philanthropy Association, launched in October 2004, has appointed Serge Raicher, a co-founding trustee of EVPA and a partner of Pantheon Ventures, as its new chairman, succeeding EVPA founder Doug Miller. EVPA has also announced that it is opening a new office in Brussels. Dutch social funders VSBfonds have recently been named as EVPA's 100th member.
Miller will continue as an EVPA trustee.
Raicher said, 'Venture philanthropy is an innovative tool in the wider philanthropic toolbox, seeking to help each euro go a bit further. EVPA has now established itself as the platform for exchange of know-how and we want to make every effort to help the venture philanthropy movement further grow and bring its contribution to the wider society.'
EVPA is made up of individuals and organisations interested in or practising venture philanthropy.
