Nexus India Capital closes early stage fund on $220m

Click here for the latest news, views and interviews in the clean energy investor communityIndian early stage investor Nexus India Capital has closed its second fund, Nexus India Capital II, on $220m. The fund will focus on consumer and business services, technology, media and cleantech, investing up to $10m per company, the firm said.

Investors in Nexus India Capital II include endowments, foundations, sovereign wealth funds and other institutions from North America, Europe and Asia.

Nexus managing director Naren Gupta said, 'We are delighted to have received such overwhelming support for Nexus, which underscores the attractiveness of the investment opportunity and the expertise of our investment team.'

Nexus was established in 2006 and has offices in Menlo Park and Mumbai.

The firm has invested in 13 companies from its previous fund, which closed on $100m in July 2007. Investments include online advertising network Komli and map business CE Infosystems.
