US private equity firm Primus Capital Partners has closed its sixth fund, Primus Capital Fund VI, on its hard cap of $275m, exceeding the fund's initial target of $250m. The fund held a previous closing in October of last year. Primus VI will continue the firm's strategy, focusing on growth equity financings, recapitalisations and MBOs in the healthcare, business services and education industry sectors.
To date, Primus has made five investments from the fund, including hospital information system company Healthcare Management Systems, clinical testing services provider Laboratory Partners, post-secondary education company American Institutes, alternative parts supplier PartsSource and revenue cycle management company Passport Health Communications.
The firm's previous fund, Primus Capital Fund V, closed in 2000 on $280m.
Primus was established in 1983. The firm currently manages a portfolio of 21 companies.
