Teaneck, New Jersey-based renewable energy-focused private equity firm Hudson Clean Energy Partners has hired Mike O'Neill to assist the firm in the launch of the newly formed renewable energy company Element Power. He will take on a senior leadership role in Element. Prior to joining Hudson, O'Neill was commercial director of Renewable Energy Systems Group where he helped turn the firm into a multi-national renewable energy producer with nearly 3,000 MW of projects built throughout the world.
Element Power will operate as an independent power producer focused on carbon-free wind and solar energy sources at utility scale in the renewable energy marketplace. The company has already begun acquiring assets for its portfolio and expects to create a portfolio of greenfield and brownfield assets in major markets around the world.
Neil Auerbach, founder and co-managing partner, Hudson, said, 'Hudson is dedicated to building the Element Power platform into a market leader. We are delighted that Mike is joining us to play a key role at Element. He has unparalleled credentials and is a real thought leader in the industry.'
Hudson invests in companies focused on renewable power, alternative fuels, energy storage and demand-side energy management.
