DLJ Merchant Banking Partners, the private equity investment arm of Credit Suisse, has appointed Nicole Arnaboldi as chairman of the firm and its investment committee. The move follows the retirement of Steven Rattner, former head of DLJ MBP. Arnaboldi is currently co-head of illiquid alternatives, a role she will continue following the new appointment.
Senior partners Ed Johnson, Kamil Salame, Susan Schnabel and Colin Taylor will report to Arnaboldi and together comprise DLJ MBP's management committee.
Rob Shafir, CEO of Credit Suisse's asset management division, said, 'We are very pleased that Nicole will become the chairman of DLJ MBP. One of the most experienced investors in the business; she brings to this role nearly 25 years of industry experience where she has established herself as a leader in private equity.'
Arnaboldi is a vice chairman of Credit Suisse in alternative investments in the asset management business, based in New York. She joined Credit Suisse First Boston in November 2000 through the merger with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, where she was a managing director in the firm's merchant banking team.
DLJ MBP has offices in New York, London and Los Angeles. Earlier this month, the firm acquired UK school travel group Education and Adventure Travel for £100m.
